description:
The wind up in the 45–50 knot range on deck tonight, gusts over 60, but Osprey is lying safely snugged down under bare poles lying a'hull about 500 miles off Nova Scotia. Mini Series Links: This video became the beginning of a short series on how to lie a' hull in heavy weather: The first video explaining how I prepared for the Storm is here : https://youtu.be/DpwjXcgcpq0 The next part, discussing the dynamics of lying a-hull is here: https://youtu.be/OAvAIF80QKM The last part showing conditions on deck during the day and answering g your questions is here: https://youtu.be/RXft96LVjYQ?si=gs5UDMemSymFioVE This short update is a look around inside Osprey during the night while we ride out the first part of the storm — the sounds, the motion, and what it actually feels like to be out here in these conditions. Previous to this, was a full day of decisions: what to fix, what to leave, and whether to keep moving or not. This is the result of that — choosing to slow everything down and prioritize safety. Next video will walk through that process in detail — how we got here, what was going on with the sail, and why this was the right call. For now, this is the reality of it. Need More Mariner?
