Setup is the one thing you can control before the putter ever moves. Get it right and everything else gets easier. Brad Faxon breaks down the ideal putting address position from two angles - face-on and down the line - giving you a clear checklist you can actually use on the practice green or in front of a mirror at home. From face-on, the goal is simple alignment. Ankles, knees and hips on the same line. Feet narrow, ball position just inside the left heel. Weight slightly favoring the lead side - think 55-45. Zipper, shirt buttons, nose and hat logo all stacked. If you're right hand low, expect a small shoulder tilt to the right. This helps to keep your shoulders from opening up too much at address. From down the line, the focus shifts to the forearms. Square forearms to the target line is what separates the most consistent putters. Knees can be slightly open. Eyeline sits just inside or directly over the ball, never outside it. Bow slightly forward from the hips.
